Bringing Darkness to Light!

Years ago, I allowed my older 3 children to play a game that was very popular at the time. That only lasted for about a week in our house. It didn't take long for me to figure out that something was drastically wrong. I did some research and was shocked to find what I did. The game had been outlawed in other countries because of what was going on with the kids who were playing it. They were chanting and going into trances, acting violently, etc. Needless to say, my kids were no longer allowed to play. We got rid of everything that had anything to do with Poke'mon - and I made it very clear to them that it was unacceptable and why. It was not easy for them - or for me. Other parents were not very receptive and I felt like my friends and family thought I was crazy - but I did not budge on my decision.

When Harry Potter hit the scene, people I admired and trusted were reading the books to their kids. People in authority over my kids in the church saw nothing wrong with it. I do not understand why when evil is so openly and blatantly declared - as in witchcraft and wizardry - that it is so widely accepted. My kids understand for the most part - but there are times when they don't. It is hard for them to understand why it's okay for their friends to do things that they can't - especially church friends... I have done my best to explain that our personal convictions do not go for everyone - but they do stand in our house.

Kadabra - SuperPsy - emits special alpha waves from it's body that induce headaches even to those nearby...
Dark Wartortle - negative attitude often hides in shell when in bad mood which is often...

Most cards have a rule that they can't be used when the character is asleep, confused, or paralyzed. A couple of the characters have hidden power that is effective even when they are sleeping, confused, or paralyzed. Some say where the characters are found and what they are believed to be responsible for - like in unexplained news stories...

You may be thinking - okay - it's just a game - what's the big deal? Well, let me just say that the road that our family has walked has been so touched by much of this that it is impossible to ignore it and chalk it up to coincidence.

My youngest son has been healed of diagnosed migraine headaches and seizures. He was not healed by medication - but through prayer, deliverance, and revelation of what God's Word holds for our healing. Today - if he complains of a headache - we do not run for medicine. We immediately take authority over him in prayer and command the oppression to leave. Most of the time - that's all it takes. Every now and then, he will need to be medicated. Seizure activity - the deaf and dumb spirit - knows it is not welcome anywhere near my son - period. We walk in authority and victory in Jesus.

I have another son that was on 5 daily meds for asthma for years. He has been medication free for a couple of years now. Praise the LORD for VICTORY!

I could spend hours telling stories about what we've been through - things we have wondered - things we have battled and overcome, in the presence of the enemy...

The latest fuss has been Bakugan - a new game/toy on the market that is very popular with boys. When I checked it out, I did not like what I found and I said NO to my boys. Yesterday, we came across a binder of assorted game cards and 'Choke' a book written by Chuck Palahaniuk - the evil and cultic author of Fight Club. I found the book a long time ago and told my teen boys to get rid of it but found it again yesterday... All of these things fueled a nice fire in the grill this afternoon!
